Leaked Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM image indicates just minor improvements over 6.1

We are slowly sick and tired of reporting various rumors about Windows Mobile 6.5 considering that in roughly 3 weeks everything will be known, but apparently some early version of Windows Mobile 6.5 for certain old model of a Windows Mobile phone has leaked, and it is inept beyond belief:

  • never mind multi-touch and user-friendly user interface – it is just slightly improved Windows Mobile 6! No multi-touch, no 3D icons, no fluent transitions!
  • Internet Explorer Mobile 6 is included (with support for Flash) – but it is also available in Windows Mobile 6.1.4 and later, so no Windows Mobile 6.5 needed for that
  • new way to lock screen
  • Microsoft touch technology with scrolling similar to the one used in HTC phones with touchscreen, i.e. finger scrolling without usage of scrollbars is possible
