How to Turn Your Laptop Into an Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter for Windows XP

So, you want to connect your Xbox 360 to the Internet, but its too far away from your router/modem, and you don’t want to fork out a stupidly large amount of money on buying a wireless adapter to plug into the back of your Xbox… well here is a cheap and easy way to connect your Xbox 360 to the Internet through your Laptop.

Requirements: A Laptop with a connection to the Internet, An Ethernet cable

There are two ways are doing this, one is by creating a bridge and the other is by ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)

Step 1. Firstly switch off your Xbox, Laptop and Router/Modem. Connect your Xbox to your Laptop via the Ethernet cable (I don’t think it matters which type of Ethernet cable you use). One end goes into the back of the Xbox and the other goes into the back of you Laptop

Step 2. (On your Laptop) On the task-bar at the bottom, Click Start>Control Panel>Network Connections. Now there are two connections that you need to worry about. One should be the connection to the Internet (If your laptop has wireless capability then it will be called something like “Wireless Network Connection”) and the other should be a local area connection. Highlight both of these by dragging your mouse over them or by Ctrl + Click. Right click and there should be a choice there called “Bridge Connections”. This should take a few moments while Windows sets everything up.

Step 3. Once the bridge has been finished try switching on your Xbox and see if you can connect to xbox live. If you are having problems then try clicking “Repair Connection” on your laptop by clicking the right mouse button on your bridged connection. If this still doesn’t fix the problem. Try restarting everything (Laptop, Xbox and Router) and see if it works then. To try and diagnose the problem, and potentially fix it, go to network settings on your Xbox and Test the Internet Connection.

Another way of connecting your Xbox 360 to the internet through your laptop is by enabling ICS on your Laptop

Step 1. (Same as Step 1 above)

Step 2. Go to Start>Control Panel> Network Connections then right click your Laptop’s Internet connection and choose Properties. A small window should pop up and you need to click the advanced tab. There should be an option there to enable ICS, click this and then select OK at the bottom. Viola, you should now be able to connect to the internet on your xbox (however you may need to repair the local area connection to enable it to connect. If you still cant connect then try the steps mentioned in Step 3 above.

Now a days , Internet marketing is the most effective and efficient method to generate business worldwide. In this people used to promote themselves online, in different marketplaces. To start an Internet marketing for your business you need a domain name. Getting an effective domain name is the most important step for online business success. Before going for domain name registration, it is very important to have an action plan.Below are few of the tips to help you to find the right domain name for your business, that will be a successful choice for you.1. The extension of domain name should make a notice to the user about your location and target marketplace. If your business targets to local community than you must go to get country specific domains. You will get benefits of such local domains in your search engine results and people in that country will know that they are dealing with local entity. If you would like ti target globally or you are based in US than go for .com domains.2. Use of keyword in domain names sometimes helps in search engine results3. Short names are much easier to remember and spell correctly. Using long name, by only one spelling mistake you can lose a potential visitor forever. If it is hard to pronounce than you can’t expect users to spread the word.4. Try to avoid hyphens. If straightforward names are gone than its better to come up with different idea with different name.5. Go for reputable domain name registration company. Some of the companies are just the middlemen, they charge much higher fees for the domain name you want. In some of the cases they register using their own information and it becomes difficult for the customer to do anything with that domain.6. When buying a domain name avoid copyright and trademark infringement. Companies can take legal actions against the website owner, so be careful.7. Try to buy several different extensions of your domain name, so no one else can violate on your success by registering a similar name.8. Before you proceed to pay for the domain registration, always do a spell check. Once you registered the domain name, you can’t edit it even in your domain control panel. These tips will help you to register an efficient domain name for your business.

  2. Antony Frodsham Says:

Domain registration is required to maintain a database of website names and their corresponding IP addresses, including the information of the person who owns the website. It also prevents websites having the same name. Websites which are linked to the ICANN?s (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) Domain Name Server (DNS) database, can easily provide information as to who owns which website. This is especially helpful in cases where copyright laws have been violated, or illegal pornography has been posted and a lawsuit needs to be instigated.People who do not wish their personal information, such as last name, residential address, or phone number to be seen, by all the people accessing the Internet desire anonymous domain registration. It also prevents Spam from being directed to individual?s email addresses. Many companies are offering Domain Registration these days, but the user might end up paying $5 to $10 more than they normally would have. What happens is, that domain-registering companies register the domain in their names, instead of the users. The users enter into an agreement with the Registrar, which states the terms of use, and the conditions under which the user?s information can be made public. It includes sending Spam or any illegal activity. Users can sell the domain or modify the contents of the websites, as per their wish. However, the official owner of the website is the Registering company. Users obviously will have to follow the ICANN’s Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy.Anonymous registration also avoids poaching of customers by competing registrars, who can check the WHOIS database and attempt to lure customers with better offers. Users are advised to read the agreement clauses very carefully. There have been a report of people?s information having been made public, by the registering company in case of complains, that were not properly investigated.
